Feline Herpesvirus Antigen (FHV Ag) Rapid Test Device

INTENDED USE

The Feline Herpesvirus Virus Rapid Test Device is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Feline Herpesvirus Virus Antigen in cat eye, nose and mouth discharge.

PRINCIPLE

Feline Herpesvirus Virus Ag Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When sample is applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If there is enough Herpesvirus antigen in the sample, a visible T band will appear. The C band should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Feline Herpesvirus Virus Antigen in the sample.

REAGENTS

The test device contains anti-FHV particles and anti-FHV coated on the membrane.

PRECAUTIONS

· For professional in vitro diagnostic use only. Do not use after expiration date.

· Do not eat, drink or smoke in the area where the specimens or kits are handled.

· Handle all specimens as if they contain infectious agents. Observe established precautions against microbiological hazards throughout testing and follow the standard procedures for proper disposal of specimens.

· Wear protective clothing such as laboratory coats, disposable gloves and eye protection when specimens are being tested.

· Humidity and temperature can adversely affect results.

· The amount of sample added to the test card should be less than or equal to 5 drops to avoid the invalidity of the test card due to excessive sampling.  

STORAGE AND STABILITY

The kit can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated (4-30°C). The test device is stable through the expiration date printed on the sealed pouch. The test device must remain in the sealed pouch until use. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not use beyond the expiration date.

SPECIMEN COLLECTION AND STORAGE

· Specimen of cat eye, nose and mouth discharge material (stool). And, it should be obtained and handled by standard methods for the sample collection.

· The stool specimen must be tested as soon as they are prepared. If necessary, they may be stored at 2~8℃ for up to 48 hours. If longer storage is required, the sample may be frozen at -20℃.
